which means sleepless Sunday night for me. 

(For some reason after going there I'm just 

so full of ideas it keeps me awake.  This time I found myself 

awake at 1am and surfing Amazon for an 

alphabet metal stamp set.  Go figure.)

The best part of the show was meeting up

with the coolest, vintage loving mama on the planet, Angela and

her adorable little man.  

Angela's bumper sticker says it all,

"MAKE CRAFTS NOT WAR"

What a great motto to live by.

 

I tried to convince the mister to buy

this super cool Moolah Stage jacket

without any luck.  He got a vintage watch instead.

That's my practical Stu. 

  

My loot, on the other hand, isn't nearly as practical as a watch- 

but I think it's pretty cute.  The artist was just a doll too.

She creates new jewelry out of found items. 

And I'm a sucker for anything that is both sparkly and green.

The Luxury of Turning 30

This weekend I enjoyed the luxury of turning 30.

That's right--thirty years old on Saturday :0)

The mister surprised me with my very first Betsy Johnson's ever.  Aren't they just dazzling!?

I felt really really lucky when I googled events in Chicago on October 22

and stumbled upon this totally up my alley event:

 Oh my gosh, I can't even begin to tell you how spectacular it was.

I think if we all had our own personal heavens, mine would look a little bit like this.

Even the drive wasn't too bad this time. 

 

This was the biggest vintage event I've ever been too. 

This was the main room.  But, there were 4 more rooms too.

I fell in love with this coat.  I dreamt about it and everything.  Sigh.
Maybe one day I'll be walking downtown and spot the lady who snagged this beauty.

These ladies look just fabulous!  Holy vintage awesomeness!

Cute Puppet Purse.  The vendor, Maggie Roche, said these cute bags
were made by a puppeteer out of California.

So far, I pretty much love being 30.
 

Sunday Antiques

You'd be surprised at how quickly time passes

when you spend a Sunday

at the Volo Antique Mall which has three floors.

I love love love old antique-y things.

Here's some of our favorite remnants from the past that we spotted.

We mostly window shopped but did pick out a few items.

The mister got a Shakespeare book and an E.T. poster.

I snagged a really neat vintage scarf.

This is a glimpse into the future - but, instead of a blue hat - I'll be sporting the cool old lady blue hair.

Almost had to buy this one.  But, resisted the temptation.

I love seeing other folks' collection of sparkles.

 Most of my collection was handed down to me

from Grandma Johnson,

which makes it all the more special. 

I'm so lucky that I'm from a long line of

costume jewelry goddesses-

including the lovely Aunt Edie and the lively Aunt Theresa :0)
